The Litespeed Pisgah Titanium Frame Arrived

Bicycles and AccessoriesBuilding a new mountain bike with the Litespeed Pisgah titanium frame. Lets face it, all cyclists are never going to agree on some things. Take the ultimate material for the perfect bike, for example. While the majority believe that it's a carbon fiber build bike frame, the retro purists are never going to believe that it's anything other than good old steel.

But whenever I take a titanium bike out for a test ride, my local bunch of mountain biking enthusiastic friends show more interest than normal, checking out every detail of the bike and bombarding me with questions. Is it stiff enough? How does it ride? How much does it weight? How much does it cost?

Regardless of where they stand on the Carbon fiber / steel frame divide, they all usually reach the same verdict” 'Wow, man, this is a classy bike'

That's exactly the same reaction I had when I took my latest titanium bike frame out of its box. The Litespeed Pisgah titanium frame is just a frame so the bike required assembly, giving me time to check every weld and scrutinize the frame finish. Both were, as expected, immaculate. Something that immediately captured my attention was the hexagonally shaped toptube, which almost doubles in diameter where it meets the headtube. Litespeed, the manufacturer of the titanium Pisgah frame, promised a headtube stiffness never previously experienced on a titanium bike. The planed kilometers on the road will put that claim to the test.

The hexagonal toptube, along with the silver paint job, make the bike a real eye-catcher, especially when viewed from the side. Tiny rear stays, also partially painted black, add even more elegance. Meanwhile, the oval downtube wraps the bottom bracket, providing a large welding surface and maintaining stiffness and power transfer while preserving the sophisticated looks.
